8 Reasons Why Young Children Should Not Have a Cell Phone

I am shocked; with the school preparations, I realized that I needed a new computer for my children, and when I went to the store, I was surprised to see how a child no older than 3 years had the same type of smartphone that I do. I was stunned by how easily parents give a cell phone to young children because I believe it was created for communication; therefore, a child so young does not need to be located or to know where they are. In my research, I found these reasons why it is bad for a child to have a cell phone. 1. When a child is given any device like an iPad, a cell phone, or simply put in front of the television, many studies have shown that they may develop attention deficits in the future, learning problems, and increased aggression, among many other things. 2. Nowadays, one in three children starts school with some developmental delay. This is what I mentioned earlier about the learning capacity significantly decreasing, resulting in lower academic performance. 3. Thanks to the use of video games, many children suffer from obesity, which in turn leads to other diseases like diabetes. I am surprised to see that a high number of children under 12 suffer from this problem when they have their whole lives ahead of them, yet they are already experiencing these types of diseases from such a young age. 4. Have you ever heard that there should be no television in your children's room? This is because it does not allow them to engage in other activities, such as sleeping. Sleep is one of the most important primary needs for all people, but especially for children, so having any device that attracts their attention more than falling asleep can be a problem. 5. Spending too much time on a cell phone or being in front of the television all day can cause children to develop other illnesses such as depression, anxiety, autism, and psychosis. It is truly shocking that a child no older than 5 suffers from depression when they really have very few responsibilities or things to worry about. 6. Many times we wonder why many children are aggressive at school. One reason is that young children see violent content in television programs or video games. 7. Another negative consequence is that children find it difficult to concentrate and their memory decreases. This does not happen overnight, but over time, you will see changes in your children, especially in their school grades. 8. Many children become so attached to technology that they become addicted. This is caused by them seeking refuge in technology in the absence of their parents' attention. These are just some causes and consequences that a child may face if they spend all day glued to a cell phone or sitting watching television. Do not neglect your children, as there won't be another day you can spend with them. As many people say, family comes first.   View the original article Article courtesy of:             Recommended notes: Lunch list for your children Don't run out of ideas for your children's lunch 5 things you didn't learn in school
