Cheese is a basic, nutritious, and tasty food that adds great nutritional value to our diet. Nowadays, we have a wide variety of cheeses to choose from, and they are part of numerous dishes, enhancing their nutritional value and flavor. There are certain varieties of cheese that contain a high percentage of fat; they are easy to digest and can save you in a pinch if unexpected guests arrive. Storage Cheese keepers found in stores, in order to keep cheese in perfect condition, are not only useful but also very decorative. Don't hesitate to buy one if you have space in your kitchen. We recommend placing some raw chickpeas inside the cheese keeper; they absorb moisture and keep the cheese in perfect condition. When your kitchen space doesn't allow for a cheese keeper, don't put the cheese in the fridge. Keep it on top of the refrigerator. To prevent it from drying out, wrap it in a cloth dampened with vinegar or white wine. Remember that whenever the cloth dries, you should re-moisten it as many times as necessary. Cheese should be kept at room temperature, and if you don't use it often, it's better to buy it in small quantities to avoid mold. If you want to have fresh cheese that you can grate when needed, instead of buying pre-packaged bags, always keep a good piece of Dutch or Parmesan cheese at home and store it as we recommend.
