They Hold the Semi-Final of Chef of the Year from Guadalajara

    The most recognized competition for professional chefs at the national level successfully held another semi-final. On January 24 and 25, the fourth semi-final of Chef of the Year Mexico 2011-2012 took place in the city of Guadalajara. The jury this time included: Antonio de Livier (Hotel Demetria), José Noe Suro (Cerámica Suro), Rafael Cendejas (Restaurante Baires), Lorenzo García (Restaurante Blanco y Tinto), Gustavo Palma (Director of Politécnico Guanajuato, Restaurante Artesanía), and Adrián Herrera (Fonda San Francisco). Rurik Salazar from Hotel Rosewood San Miguel Allende was crowned the winner of the Guadalajara Semi-Final. It is important to emphasize that Rurik has to prepare, like all those qualified for the grand final, but he has all the tools to be the one who takes home the grand prize of this edition. On the other hand, as in each semi-final, the competition was accompanied by a series of conferences, with the quality seal that marks Chef of the Year. The speakers not only touched on purely culinary topics; like the Lara brothers from EOS MÉXICO, authors of great designs in the restaurant habit such as Ló by Aquiles Chávez, to mention one. They shared “Design and Gastronomy” and emphasized the importance of design in creating an experience for diners within a restaurant. With such interesting topics as this, beer tastings, chocolate art, and a range of topics about gastronomy, the conferences and workshops were once again a success. Chef of the Year Mexico is halfway through its third edition, the next semi-final, which encompasses the northwest region, is scheduled for February 28 and 29 in the port of Mazatlán, Sin.
