Over the past few weeks, we have released images of the work by Lernert & Sander, Cubes. The dynamic has been to guess which ingredient we are seeing, as in the form of small cubes, it can be difficult to distinguish what products they are. Today we have a final selection of some of the fruity ingredients used in the aesthetic work.
We have already shown vegetables like onions and meats ranging from beef to salmon, but today it’s time for sweet and tangy fruits. With the five most colorful cubes we have shown to date, we have: kiwi, lime, tomato, pear, and starfruit.
As in previous occasions, today we recommend how to use these exotic ingredients in cube form within your own kitchen; we have recipes and some tips to help you make the most of this cubic initiative.
Starfruit
This could be the most exotic fruit on the list, also called star fruit, it is a delicious ingredient with a sweet and sour flavor that you can use raw as a snack for you and the kids. You can also use the cubes as decoration in a morning juice or brunch, and even to make a delicious pie to share over the weekend.
Lime
Bitten into a whole cube of lime might not be very appetizing for most as it can be quite sour, but it can be an ideal companion. Like kiwi, you can use it in fresh waters, but it can also serve as decoration for a lemon pound cake or as a sour agent in a cocktail for the next party.
Pear
Delicious caramelized pears, whether alone with ice cream or in a pie, can work very well in cube form. You could also poach the small cubes in red wine and have a very fresh and original garnish for any dessert you make for lunch or dinner. Of course, their freshness also invites you to use the cubes well chilled in drinks and cocktails.
Tomato
Trying to make a caprese salad with tomato cubes is a great idea; all the freshness of that delicious salad but in a different shape guarantees a surprise. Another idea is to use the tomato cubes in a rich cream, whether avocado, or the tomato itself to add a different texture and give some substance to a soup that might seem boring.
Kiwi
A fruit cocktail could be the obvious choice, but it would definitely be striking and colorful. Another alternative is to put the kiwi cubes into a rich gelatin to make it look fun and appetizing. You can also use them in plain water to add some sweetness and acidity, giving you something different to drink during meals on these summer days.
