For those who often spend a lot of time in the kitchen, we know that safety is very important.
Accidents are common, and many of them can be serious, not only for adults but sometimes for children, who constantly roam the kitchen and do not fully understand the risks.
It is well known that the kitchen is where most household accidents occur, so all precautions we take are not enough.
Here are some basic and important tips to keep in mind:
- Whenever we are boiling food or frying, it is very important to place the handles of the pot or pan towards the wall. Under no circumstances should towels or combustible materials be left near those heat sources.
- When handling hot utensils or opening and closing the oven, protective gloves should be used. After finishing the task and before leaving the kitchen, it is very important to check that the oven has been completely turned off.
- All sharp objects and potentially toxic items, such as detergents of all kinds, must be kept completely out of the reach of children, properly closed and secured in the place where they are stored.
- Very young children should not be in the kitchen when work is being done, and at other times, they should not do so without adult supervision.
