As every week, here are some tips you shouldn't miss:
- Garlic can sometimes overpower dishes; if it’s overcooked, it can even turn bitter. The trick is to crush it before browning it or always add it with another ingredient to prevent it from burning.
- To remove sand from clams, simply cover them with coarse salt and wait half an hour. Then rinse them with cold water and you’ll have perfect clams.
- If you want to clean the inside of salt shakers, use hot water and vinegar. Let it soak and then dry it with a hairdryer; they will look like new.
- To prevent oil from splattering while frying, add a bit of salt to the pan. Sometimes we also find that two glasses are stuck together, and the only way to separate them is to break them. Place them on the countertop and twist them; they will separate automatically.
- If you have leftover rice from the previous day, never throw it away. The next day, give it a dip in boiling salted water and cover it. Stir with a fork and it will be perfect.
