Cake pops are perfect for celebrations such as birthdays, bachelorette parties, weddings, for example.
These pops, also known as Cake Pops, are a delight and can be made in various shapes and flavors. It’s just a matter of having the right ingredients, plenty of creativity, and you're good to go.
Here we share the recipe for delicious cake pops made from a mix of chocolate cake with vanilla frosting covered in chocolate, shared by Chef
Karla Campos Quintero, from
Kiwilimón.
Ingredients
1 Box of chocolate cake mix
2 Cups of vanilla frosting
300 Grams of semi-sweet chocolate
300 Grams of pink or white chocolate tablets
Colored sprinkles
Mini marshmallows
Popsicle sticks
Preparation Method
Start by preparing the chocolate cake according to the instructions on the box. Once ready, allow it to cool.
Prepare two baking sheets lined with parchment paper.
In a food processor, grind the chocolate cake until it resembles chocolate cake crumbs.
Pour the chocolate cake into a bowl and mix with the vanilla frosting. Mix well until it forms a moist and manageable dough.
Make 50 balls with your hands from the dough and place them on the baking sheets. Chill the balls in the freezer for 10 minutes or in the refrigerator for about 2 hours or until they are hard and firm.
Melt the semi-sweet chocolate in a double boiler and melt the pink or white chocolate in another pot.
Dip the cake balls into the chocolate (half in one and half in the other) and place them on the parchment paper. Insert the popsicle stick and decorate with sprinkles or marshmallows.
Allow them to dry completely before serving.
Presentation
They can be placed in a decorated foam base with tissue paper.
