Food in the first months of your baby

Food is one of the most important factors for the development, well-being, and health of our children, which is why it should be given great importance. During the first 4 to 6 months of your baby, the only recommended food is breast milk or, when that is not possible, formula milk. During these months, the first bonds between the baby and food are established, as well as the security that it represents for them. My daughter always ate very well, so the pediatrician recommended that we start with food until she was 6 months old, but it is important to remember that every baby is different, and it is best to follow your pediatrician's advice on when to introduce solids.   Rice or Oatmeal What excitement when the pediatrician told me I could try giving cereal to my daughter, her first food outside of breast milk! The instructions were simple: Give her one tablespoon a day of rice or oatmeal diluted in milk. I decided to start this food at night hoping that it would fill my daughter for a longer time so she could sleep her full 12 hours. Trying to follow my philosophy of freshness in food, I decided to boil rice, grind it, and mix it with milk (instead of using processed cereal powders that one can buy at the supermarket). The result was not what I expected. During the meal, my daughter enjoyed the spoon, the new texture, and the flavor; I put her to sleep and thought it had been a complete success, but the next day I learned my first lesson: RICE CAN CAUSE CONSTIPATION IN BABIES, so I had to watch my daughter experience her first moment of constipation, a bad experience. After this, the pediatrician recommended that we give her oatmeal instead. Given my experience, I preferred to give her baby oatmeal, and the result was better, although it is also important to share my second lesson: OATMEAL CAN LAXATE BABIES.
