Fruits and Your Baby

Fruits are an excellent food for babies thanks to their vitamins and flavors. The first recommended fruits are: Apple, Banana, Pear, Mango, Plum, Apricot, Prune, Peach, Papaya, and Avocado. Initially, it is ideal for them to try the fruit on its own and then mixed with other fruits and/or cereals. The first fruit my daughter tried was a pear, and she loved it; although she didn't eat much, she really enjoyed the pear juice. Then I introduced her to the apple, and even though it was a bit more acidic, she liked it a lot. As part of a balanced nutrition, I started giving her a portion of fruit in the morning with her breakfast. This recipe is an example of a delicious and easy fruit combination. Apple and Apricot Puree Ingredients: - 2 peeled apples - 2 peeled apricots Procedure: 1. Place the apples and apricots in a pot covered with enough purified water. 2. Allow to boil, reduce to low heat, and cover. Cook for 5-10 minutes. 3. Remove from heat and puree with your blender or food processor. Note: This puree can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours or frozen for up to 4 weeks.
