Introduction to proteins for your baby

Once your baby is eating cereals, fruits, and vegetables, you can start introducing proteins. It is generally recommended to start with chicken and then with beef. Many pediatricians advise against eating fish until the baby is 1 year old. A delicious recipe to introduce babies to chicken is a chicken broth for babies: Ingredients: 1/2 chicken breast (preferably organic or hormone-free) 1 peeled carrot 1 peeled chayote 1 peeled potato ½ peeled tomato Procedure: 1. Place the chicken and vegetables in a pot with water and boil until the chicken is well cooked (approximately 30 minutes). 2. Remove the chicken and vegetables from the broth and grind them in a food processor. 3. Add the broth little by little to decide on the desired consistency. Note: This puree can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours or frozen for up to 4 weeks. Try different consistencies with your baby; some prefer thinner consistencies while others prefer thicker ones.
