Just as in Mexico we commonly send sandwiches and sausages with lime and chili to our children as lunch to school, in other countries they have their own traditions. Here are some of the most diverse and different lunches from what we are used to. We present to you some of the lunches around the world.
France
In France, lunch is provided by the school itself and for many it may seem like a luxury. The lunch generally includes a selection of salads with sides like smoked salmon and asparagus, along with roasted potatoes and steamed vegetables, as well as washed rind cheese with French bread and a dessert of strawberries or clafoutis. These delights are served on warmed plates with real cutlery.

Italy
In Italy, school meals are not just about feeding hungry students, but also about teaching children about local traditions and supporting sustainable agriculture. And no, they don’t just eat spaghetti, although it is part of the rotating pasta selection. A typical lunch taken to school might be zucchini risotto and a mozzarella, tomato, and basil salad.

Ukraine
Students often take a snack like borscht, the traditional Ukrainian soup made from beets, followed by stewed vegetables and meat. Other key ingredients in the lunchbox are sausages or a chop (minced meat mixed with egg and breadcrumbs) with mashed potatoes or wheat. Dessert is often pancakes covered in chocolate.

Japan
The children's diet in the land of the rising sun is very simple: rice, fish, vegetable soup with seaweed, some pickled cucumbers, and milk. This is the typical lunch of a Japanese child. If they enjoy the meal served by the school, the teacher, who eats the same food, teaches students to be aware of what they eat, not to waste food, and to appreciate what they have as sustenance.

Kenya
School-age children in Kenya eat a dish called githeri, a simple yet nutritious preparation that combines pinto beans and roasted corn. This recipe originated with the Kikuyu tribe and is now the daily standard for children in this African country.
