Upon his return from the Trojan War, Ulysses (also called Odysseus) sailed for 20 years through various islands and seas. Along the way, he experienced adventures with cyclopes, gods, and beings with supernatural powers, until he could return to his kingdom, Ithaca, where his wife Penelope and son Telemachus awaited him. His journey, full of difficulties, challenges, and adventures (known as The Odyssey), became one of the most famous tales in literature of all time.Arriving in Ithaca is returning home, to the sanctuary, to the refuge; but it is also reuniting with loved ones in a space to recover memories, rest, and relax from the day’s activities, to extend knowledge and communication with others, as well as to share the stories that matter to us through words and books. That is Cafebrería Ítaca, in Cerritos, San Luis Potosí, a cozy spot with a café, bookstore, library, and workshops where everyone is welcome.Cafebrería Ítaca is the first café-bookstore offering cultural, literary activities, and workshops in Cerritos, San Luis Potosí, promoting connections with writers and artists from other parts of the Republic. Its founders, Lorena Rojas and Adán Medellín, envision consolidating this space as a temporary residence for cultural and artistic creators, organizing the first literary festival in Cerritos with local, regional, and national guests. Additionally, they promote reading among all who visit, as they have a rich personal literary collection.Lorena Rojas, originally from Cerritos, San Luis Potosí, studied Spanish Language and Literature at UASLP and writes short stories and theatrical monologues. Her stories have been published in digital magazines like Punto en Línea and Neotraba, where she writes the column Letras y Enigmas.Adán Medellín, originally from Mexico City, holds a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Language and Literature from UNAM. He has published four books of short stories: Vértigos, Tiempos de Furia, El canto circular, and Blues vagabundo (Winner of the Bellas Artes de Cuento San Luis Potosí Prize 2017). He received his second Bellas Artes Prize, now in Literary Essay, with El cielo trepanado in 2019. Among other notable awards, he has received the Sergio Pitol National Short Story Prize in 2007, the Beatriz Espejo National Short Story Prize in 2019, and the Ibero-American Short Story Prize Ventosa Arrufat-Elena Poniatowska Foundation in 2020.Lorena and Adán are the founders of this project made with pure heart and passion. When you visit Cafebrería Ítaca, they will welcome you and delight you with literature and exquisite dishes like their Ítaca spaghetti, a house pasta with a marine twist of shrimp and mussels in a delicious spiced three-cheese cream; their Clerinfusión, which is the alcohol-free twist of a classic cocktail with a base of grape juice and infusion of red fruits; and their garambullo pie, a cold dessert with the essence of a seasonal fruit from the desert.Don't wait any longer and embark on your journey to Cafebrería Ítaca!Where to visit them?
