Ensenada is a gastronomic mecca in Mexico. Eating is a memorable experience, whether in its carts with fresh seafood or in its restaurants that integrate the best of their natural surroundings with the vision of talented local architects and designers. Since it opened its doors in 2018, in the Valle de Guadalupe, Fauna has been in the spotlight of experts in Mexico and the world, for its culinary proposal and the concept it represents. It brings to life, along with a winery (Bruma) and a hotel (Casa 8), an extraordinary space designed by Alejandro D’Acosta. Its menu is based on local and seasonal ingredients that orchestrate a wonderful play of colors, textures, aromas, and flavors in each dish (both savory and sweet). It is food that enchants you with the same love as the couple of chefs at the helm of the restaurant: David Castro Hussong and Maribel Aldaco Silva. In 2020, Fauna was recognized as one of the best emerging restaurants with the “Miele One To Watch Award” by Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, one of the most important gastronomic rankings in Latin America. This award is a global recognition, created in 2013, awarded by the 50 Best team based on the voting of a group of 250 leaders in the restaurant industry in Latin America. In addition, the Miele One To Watch Award highlights them for being challenging projects, having a consistent menu, and being authentic in ingredients and experience. Thus, in its eighth edition, it recognizes the trajectory and talent of Fauna and its young culinary talents, who will be awarded virtually at the awards ceremony on December 3, through the YouTube channel: 50 Best Restaurants TV.
