As you may have read in our note Ingredients in Cubes, we have been inspired by the artistic work of Lernert & Sander to invite you to the dynamic of identifying various ingredients that are found in cube form. Today we continue and present you with the following five little cubes for you to guess what they are and also to know how to surprise your family and friends by using them in the kitchen. As you can see in the images, the work of Lernert & Sander called Cubes, takes raw ingredients of all kinds to cut them into perfect cubes and arrange them in a very aesthetic and almost hypnotic way. From their varied selection of ingredients, we chose the following five: onion, leek, garlic, cabbage, and ginger. To inspire you with this work and help you incorporate the cube trend into your dishes, we have tips on how to bring the cube fashion to your meals: Cabbage Not going too far, a cabbage salad where everything is cubical sounds like a great idea that would catch attention. Since cabbage is a usual side for burgers , fried cubes of cabbage could also work as a side for the sandwich or even inside, along with cheese and bacon. Garlic Garlic is an essential ingredient in cooking, along with onion it's a flavor maximizer and has a very particular taste used in every corner of the world. Well-fried and with a little soy sauce, it is an excellent accompaniment for fried rice, even in its cubical form. For a pasta with parmesan, chili, and garlic, it wouldn’t hurt if your family likes strong Italian flavors. Onion Onion is very diverse, but when we limit its shape to a cube, it cannot be used as we usually do. That’s why we recommend using onion cubes as if they were small grilled onions with Worcestershire sauce, lemon, and salt. It’s a classic snack with an original twist. Another idea would be to batter them and give a different shape to classic onion rings. Leek How to use leek and not think of the classic leek and potato cream. You can make the rich soup and decorate with leek cubes to give it another texture and a gourmet touch. Leek is also an excellent accompaniment for fish, so a delicious grilled salmon with leek cubes and creamy sauce would be a very tempting dish. Ginger This ingredient so common in Asian cuisine would be perfect to accompany sweet and sour chicken or even a kung pao sauce. It’s also true that it can be used in sweet dishes and drinks, as it is very refreshing. Why not use it as decoration in ginger cocktails or even in a delicious pineapple and ginger water for the summer heat.
