It's typical that one day you wake up with all the motivation to try new recipes in your kitchen. You go to the supermarket to buy the thousands of ingredients needed to cook that super special or exotic dish, and eight months later you see how the little jars are gathering dust. Before you make any decisions, we have to tell you something: don't throw away the food in your pantry! Make the most of everything in your kitchen with these tips: Apple Cider Vinegar That little splash left in the bottle is enough to turn a boring salad into a real culinary experience. Make a delicious Greek salad dressing with just two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Brown Sugar Half a cup of brown sugar is what you need to enjoy a good no-bake carrot cake. If you notice it's getting too hard, you can keep a piece of bread alongside the sugar to soften it before preparing the cake. Cardamom Don't throw away the little bag of cardamom. This spice is so aromatic that a single pinch can completely transform a recipe. Try these whole wheat cinnamon pancakes with cardamom strawberries (you only need ¼ teaspoon). Pasta The pasta you bought to make macaroni and cheese can also be used to make a spicy pasta salad. This recipe uses elbow pasta, but you can use whatever you find in your pantry. Soy Sauce The high salt content in soy sauce means it lasts a long time, so it doesn't matter if that bottle has been in your pantry for a while. Use the last tablespoon of soy sauce to make a burger with homemade BBQ sauce. Cornstarch You may have bought cornstarch to thicken a cream and never used it again. With whatever little you have left, or 1/3 cup, make a tasty and very simple snack, like these quick cheese sticks. Dijon Mustard Although mustard can be used to prepare dishes as simple as a sandwich or a salad, if you're not used to its flavor, the jar is likely to end up forgotten in your pantry. To avoid wasting anything, use half a teaspoon of mustard to cook some asparagus with mustard vinaigrette. Do you have any other ideas to make use of pantry leftovers?
