When you think you've seen it all, square shakes specifically made for a social network arrive: Instagram. The fast-food restaurant Sonic struck a deal with the photo app to sell, exclusively through Instagram and only during the Coachella festival 2016, some of the shakes from its new line.
The fast-food restaurant Sonic launched its new line of shakes with a campaign specifically designed for Coachella. On April 16, festival-goers were able to order a #SquareShake exclusively through Instagram and pay by posting an image on their accounts.
This is the first product designed and made to be sold through Instagram. Sonic's intention was to introduce its new line of Creamery Shakes. With this in mind, they enlisted the help of chef Christine Flynn (@chefjacqueslamerde). They worked with new flavors like brown sugar and bourbon or the combination of wildberry and lavender. Everything related to the shakes is square and with shapes designed to fit the digital platform for maximum visual impact.
Today is the day, the #SquareShakes are available for order through Instagram at Base Camp. If you're not in Coachella Valley, take a #ShakeBreak with half price shakes after 8 PM at SONIC
