Mexicans are characterized by many things, but there are two in particular that make us stand out globally: our love for food and the great sense of solidarity we show towards our fellow countrymen at all times. On September 19, Mexico experienced one of the most devastating earthquakes in recent years. In the face of tragedy, Mexicans quickly organized to help those in need. We swiftly formed brigades to assist in the search for people, gathered supplies and tools, and set out to lift our country from the rubble. Support came in all shapes and sizes. Everyone, from their own position and according to their means, contributed to help those affected by this tragedy, and once again, we proved that food unites Mexicans at all times. The earthquake on September 19 gave us the opportunity to witness some of the most beautiful displays of solidarity through food: What a beautiful response of solidarity from this young man donating his tamales to the rescuers. Let's go Mexico, we can do it! #FuerzaMexico pic.twitter.com/Kofuqg0khj — Bibi Montero (@BibiMonteroDR) September 20, 2017 Source: @BidiMonteroDR Like this young man who decided to support the rescuers by giving away all his tamales.
