Good Fats and Bad Fats

We often think of the word fat and associate it with something bad for health and diet. On the contrary, some fats help metabolism as well as health and keeping fit; the trick is to distinguish which ones benefit your lifestyle. Fats have a very bad reputation. Just go to the supermarket and stroll through the aisles a couple of times to see that we are obsessed with products with 0% fat and no calories, when in reality, we need them both for energy and for daily mental functions and even to stay emotionally healthy. The point is to separate the good from the bad. In short, trans and saturated fats are what we blame for obesity and for not helping to improve health, and we are right to stay away from them. But on the contrary, monounsaturated fats, polyunsaturated fats, and Omega 3 are responsible for everything opposite: controlling your weight, maintaining mental agility, combating chronic diseases, and even evading fatigue. Therefore, the decision should not be to avoid fats; it should be to replace harmful ones with those that can bring benefits to both our figure and our health. An example of a good fat is salmon. It is one of the ingredients with the highest Omega 3 content, making it quite a fatty fish, but this does not mean it is harmful; on the contrary, it has been proven to combat the chances of contracting cancer as well as arterial blockage. Another alternative is avocado, which yes, is almost pure fat, but it doesn’t matter because it helps with blood pressure and is extremely versatile in the kitchen. What we should stay away from are those fats found in long-lasting products like canned chips, sodas, and mass-produced chocolates or candies with preservatives. Let’s realize that all these foods also exist in healthy alternatives. For example, you can find fried potatoes in the same way but organic and made with olive oil, which helps rejuvenate the skin and improve digestion. Chocolate also contains fat, but if it is more than 60% pure cocoa, then it carries extraordinary hormonal benefits, especially for women. Remember that the ideal way to lose weight and stay healthy is not to eat less fat but to eat better fat, and it is not to stay away from those products that may seem more caloric but from those that can imbalance your body. In the end, all of this is good news; products like avocado, salmon, and cocoa are favorites of many, and we recommend consuming them as they can help you lose weight and stay healthy.   Recipes with Good Fats Recipe for Poached Salmon Ingredients: - 1 leek - 2 yellow lemons - 1 celery - 2 carrots - 1 tablespoon of whole pepper - 2 bay leaves - 1 sprig of thyme - 4 salmon fillets with skin - 1 bunch of fresh dill Click here to see the procedure and video for preparing this recipe.   Recipe for Avocado and Tuna Dip Ingredients: - 1 avocado - 90 grams of double cream cheese - 1 can of tuna - 1 can of pickled jalapeños - crackers - salt To see how to prepare this recipe click here.   Recipe for Bitter Chocolate Oranges Ingredients: - 150 grams of semi-bitter chocolate - 250 grams of water - 250 grams of sugar - 2 thick-skinned oranges Click here to see the procedure for preparing this recipe.   Stop eating bad fats and opt for good fats.
