Antioxidants are substances that inhibit the oxidation rate of harmful free radicals. If your diet is insufficient in these substances or if your system has an excess of free radicals, you should consider taking some supplements to destroy the oxidizing agents.     WHAT ARE THEY? They are a group of vitamins, minerals, and enzymes that protect our body from the formation of these radicals: four enzymes naturally neutralize them in the body, namely superoxide dismutase, methionine reductase, catalase, and glutathione peroxidase. The body produces them, but the action of these scavenger enzymes can be supplemented by a diet rich in antioxidants such as vitamins A, E, and C, Selenium, Zinc, among other nutrients. That is why we recommend the main fruits with high antioxidant content in order of importance. * Blueberries * Pears * Red Grapes * Apples * Cherries * Strawberries * Watermelon * Blueberries * Bananas * Green Grapes If your diet is rich in these nutrients, you will have greater protection and will not need supplementation. However, if your diet is monotonous, little varied, or if you are in a stage of greater requirement: growth, intense sports activities, pregnancy, aging, you might be lacking them; you should consider a supplemental intake of the substances that a professional will evaluate according to your needs. You will gain in prevention by boosting your defenses against external and internal stress on the body, preventing various pathologies.   Go to original article.   Article courtesy of     Antioxidant Recipes   Antioxidant Juice  View the recipe here.
