From now on, you will want to add sauce to everything you eat, according to a Chinese study published in the British journal BML, spicy food is linked to longevity. According to the research data, consuming spicy foods at least once a week can reduce the mortality rate by decreasing heart diseases, respiratory diseases, and cancer risk. This seven-year study is based on a survey of 500,000 Chinese residents. The results showed that men who consumed these foods at least once a week had a 10% lower chance of dying in the following years. On the other hand, mortality in women decreased by 12 to 22% for those who regularly consumed spicy food. These data do not demonstrate that spicy foods have the ability to reduce mortality by themselves; however, men who ate spicy food more than three times a week suffered fewer respiratory diseases than the rest. In women, in addition to the decrease in respiratory diseases, heart ailments and infections decreased as well. The key to longevity could lie in the capsaicin found in chili peppers and bell peppers, which are widely used in Chinese cuisine. So, we should eat more sauces, marinades, moles, strips, and stuffed peppers to enjoy many more healthy years. See original article Article courtesy of:
