What a nightmare! Last night I had a dream that woke me up in the middle of the night with my heart racing. But I found out, this happens when I eat heavy foods right before going to bed. To avoid having bad nights, I started researching what foods we should avoid before bedtime and... Sweet dreams!   Ice Cream Ice cream is high in fat and therefore digests very slowly. Additionally, it contains a lot of sugar and in some cases may also have caffeine. With all of this, you probably won't be able to fall asleep.   Red Meat The problem with eating red meat is that it is full of proteins and fats, and it takes a long time to digest. This can cause a lot of discomfort during the night.   Alcohol It is a myth that going to sleep after consuming a good amount of alcohol will ensure deep sleep; rather, it is quite the opposite, as alcohol can cause dehydration.   Pizza You might think that if you only eat one slice of pizza, nothing will happen; but that's not the case. Pizza has too many calories and in addition, the tomato sauce has high acidity levels that can cause acid reflux in the middle of the night.   Sweets and Chocolates Eating sugar at night is a very bad idea! It has been proven that 7 out of 10 people who consume them before bedtime are more likely to have nightmares. So it is advisable to save the treats for the next day.   Recipes for Before Bed Recipe for Eggplant Rolls with Feta Cheese Ingredients: - 2 large eggplants - 5 tablespoons of olive oil - 1 finely chopped red chili - 1 bunch of finely chopped fresh mint - 200 grams of feta cheese - juice of 1 lemon - pepper Click here to find the steps to prepare this recipe.   Recipe for Vietnamese Tuna Rolls Ingredients: - rice paper - 2 cucumbers finely cut into strips - 2 tablespoons of soy sauce - 2 tablespoons of sriracha sauce - 1 1/2 tablespoons of rice vinegar - 1/2 teaspoon of sugar - 1/2 small red onion finely chopped - butter lettuce - 1 liter of water for boiling - 1/2 package of vermicelli noodles - 3 tuna fillets - cilantro without stems - mint - salt to taste - pepper to taste - olive oil Find the steps to prepare this recipe by clicking here.   Article courtesy of        Did these tips work for you?
