Those who are vegan must have a strong conviction to completely change their eating habits. As we mentioned earlier, their food pyramid is:
- First level: Cereals
- Second level: Vegetables and greens
- Third level: Fruits and nuts
- Fourth level: Calcium-rich foods (vegetables, soy milk, etc.)
- Fifth level: Legumes or alternatives to legumes
- Sixth level: Fats (nuts, olive oil, flaxseed oil, etc.)
Veganism was founded by a couple of strict vegetarians in the United Kingdom who coined the term vegan. Elsie Shrigley and Donald Watson, who are founding vegans, created the Vegan Society. Becoming vegan involves more than just eating vegetables; it is a philosophy of respect for animals as they do not consume any animal products or anything derived from them.
According to the explanation on the official page of the Vegan Society in their Guide to Vegan Living, if the food comes from an animal, then do not eat it.
Next, we present some cooking recipes that you can consume if you are willing to be vegan, although some may need slight modifications.
