Love for white wine: Denomination of Origin Rueda captivates with exquisite tasting at Huset

The Denomination of Origin Rueda held a wonderful wine tasting at the restaurant Huset in CDMX, where the talent of chef Maycoll Calderón combined with the skill of sommelier Leomar Muñoz, resulting in an exquisite dish paired with the best white wines from the Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin Rueda. Let us remember that Rueda is the best-selling white wine denomination in Spain, as they sold over 100 million bottles in 2021 alone. They are made with barrel fermentation, which can give them a greater complexity of aromas and flavors, ideal for pairing in a beautifully planned four-course tasting.By: C.R.D.O. Rueda (A) The bucolic atmosphere of Huset, resonant with its countryside essences and warm lighting, welcomed diners to start the evening with an iced watermelon accompanied by jícama and Persian cucumber, which prepared the palate to begin the tasting with a Cuatro Rayas Vendimia Nocturna Verdejo, featuring fresh and balanced notes. Subsequently, chef Maycoll served a summer tomato salad paired with Finca Tresolmos Verdejo Classic, a wine with noble aromas and citrus notes. For the third course, the ideal companion for a wood-grilled seabass with sweet potato puree was the Caprichosa Verdejo sobre Lías, with a structured, creamy, and velvety palate. To close the night, Maycoll Calderón surprised diners with a brioche bread and a glass of Meraldis Verdejo Vinificación Integral, while sommelier Leomar Muñoz explained a new objective for Rueda white wine: Now the Council has decided to promote white wine more in Mexico to demystify the belief that it cannot be shared like any other bottle of red or rosé wine.
