What started as an academic project at UVM Veracruz turned into a revolutionary idea. Six students of Biotechnology Engineering and Pharmaceutical Biotechnologist Chemist combined their knowledge to create Cilantro Cool, a carbonated drink without added sugar or preservatives, designed as a healthy and tasty alternative to traditional sodas.Veracruz inspiration from the field to the laboratoryThe drink has local roots: they were inspired by cilantro water, a tradition from places like Omealca, Veracruz. With that base, they incorporated citrus fruits like lemon and orange, and stevia as a natural sweetener. They even used the fruit peels in the process, making it more sustainable and fresh.
