Unlike other ailments that warn us, gradually increasing their intensity, diarrhea often arrives without warning and generally at the least opportune moment.
Before you rush to the nearest pharmacy, here’s how you can cure diarrhea without medication:
Rice water
Boil half a cup of rice. After a few minutes, let it rest. Take small sips of the rice water to soothe stomach pain and cramps.
The starch present in the water will protect the mucous membranes of the digestive system and stop diarrhea.
Chamomile tea
Chamomile, meaning ‘ground apple,’ has been imbibed for centuries in the Roman Empire, during Egyptian rule, and in ancient Greece. Prized for its special flavanoids, chrysin, chamomile offers numerous health-boosting benefits. Helps with Diabetes – Some research has shown that chamomile can help those suffering from diabetes. It also helps with hyperglycemia. Antibacterial – The antibacterial effects of drinking chamomile tea can help to prevent and treat colds while protecting against bacterial-related illness and infection. Calms Muscle Spasms – One study from England found that drinking chamomile tea raised urine levels of glycine, a compound that calms muscle spasms. Researchers believe this is why chamomile tea could prove to be an effective home remedy for menstrual cramps as well. Soothes Stomach Ache – Further adding onto chamomile benefits, the herb is a wonderful for soothing an upset stomach. Helping to soothe and relax the muscles and lining of the intestines, chamomile can help with poor digestion and even those suffering from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Promotes Sleep – Drinking chamomile tea soothes the nervous system so that you can sleep better. It has been used as a solution for insomnia for centuries. Promotes Healthy Skin – With its anti-inflammatory and anti-septic properties, chamomile helps in clearing up skin irritations such as eczema, acne, and allergies. #healthbenefits #wellbeing #holisticlifestyle #naturopath #healthandwellness #holisticnutrition #holistichealth #holisticlife #ayurvedic #ayurvedicmedicine #ayurveda #vitality #nutraceuticals #yoga #vegan #healthy #healthyfood #india #wellness #chamomiletea A shared post from Orgen Nutraceuticals (@orgen.nutra) on May 8, 2017 at 7:36 PDT
Prepare half a liter of chamomile tea (it doesn’t matter if it’s from a bag) and drink the liquid slowly. In addition to calming stomach spasms, chamomile tea can help reduce the number of bowel movements.
Banana
When suffering from diarrhea, the body loses many electrolytes, so it's important to stay hydrated.
The banana, besides containing potassium, has fiber that helps absorb liquid in the intestines, thus stopping diarrhea.
Ginger
Headache evening. If in addition to diarrhea you feel nauseous, ginger tea is the best option.
Slice a small piece of fresh ginger and boil it in water. The tea will help eliminate nausea and decrease intestinal transit.
Potatoes
Although it may seem contradictory, fiber-rich foods help stop diarrhea.
Foods with insoluble fiber absorb water in the intestines and give greater consistency to the stools.
A boiled potato is an excellent option for controlling diarrhea.
Orange peel
Time to make Shirin polo. Shirin Polo is the traditional dish for celebrations in particular weddings. I personally believe you eat it once and you are either blessed with eternal bliss or a life of misery! Thats my personal feeling. Others eat it regularly and are happy. I find it's one of the favorite Persian recipe amongst my non-Persian friends. Its a sweet rice with carrots, orange zest, pistachios and almonds. There is no meat in this recipe and it is usually accompanied with roast baby chicken. Ingredients: Rice Carrots Orange zest Pistachios Almonds Saffron Orange blossom water Cinnamon Cardamom Salt Pepper Oil and:or butter#persianfood #persiancuisine #persiancatering #shirinpolo #iranianchef #iranianfood #iranian_chefs #iraniancuisine #orangezest#zest @kami_clicks A shared post from Kamran Farman Farmaian (@kami_clicks) on May 7, 2017 at 12:35 PDT
Peel an orange and boil the peel in a liter of water. Let it rest and drink the tea slowly.
Although this remedy may not have as immediate an effect as the others, we assure you that you will feel great relief in a couple of hours.
