What brings us together at the center of the table? Family memories, the flavors that shape our identity, and the pleasure of sharing it. Each story is mounted on a plate, which also represents individual stories of work, dedication, and commitment to create a piece that contains all these symbols and rituals. There are pieces that have accompanied us throughout the history of Mexico, such as the dinnerware from Anfora. Founded in 1920, its factory was the main supplier for hotels and restaurants since its inception. In the 1980s, when the country opened up to imports from China, Anfora faced competition that led to the bankruptcy of eight out of the nine ceramic factories in the country, but its quality and commitment allowed it to persevere and continue accompanying us at tables all over Mexico. Do you remember the dinnerware with Chinese landscape designs, featuring pagodas, lakes, and mountains? That dinnerware with which you were served your Swiss enchiladas at Sanborns is from Anfora, as are those incredible mugs with designs from Cielito Querido.Anfora is the most important ceramic center in Latin America, and its pieces have witnessed the love at the center of the table across our country. In restaurants, hotels, and family tables… in the hands of presidents, kings, and in churrerías, Anfora is the dinnerware for everyone and for all. And as love is celebrated and seeks new forms of expression, Anfora Studio was created in 2012, the design area that leverages the experience of crafting the best ceramics in the country, but combined with the creativity and energy of young Mexican designers like Alonso Cartú, Ariel Rojo, or Prince Lauder. For 100 years, Anfora has reflected Mexican quality and talent, but above all, the dinnerware of our home, the one that always expresses love at the center of the table.
