That time of costumes and pumpkins that children enjoy so much is coming, and one of the most important reasons is the candy. Here are some tips and healthy ideas for your children to eat deliciously and healthily this Halloween.
Although Halloween is an Anglo-Saxon celebration, we have adopted it as our own, so on October 31st, ghosts, witches, and skulls are the order of the day. Along with this celebration comes the request and distribution of sweets, so it is not uncommon to see children with chocolates, lollipops, and other treats that are not exactly healthy. Therefore, if you prefer to make something homemade or, if you want to know what to buy, take note of these tips for healthy Halloween candies.
Chocolate
Don't fear the dark; if you are going to make cookies, truffles, or bonbons, choose the darkest chocolate you can find. This means that the cocoa content is higher, saturated fats are lower, and the nutritional and energy benefits of chocolate are expressed in all their glory.
Nuts
Everything with nuts. Whether you make them at home or buy them in the store, any alternative that has peanuts, almonds, or any other nut helps children's bodies develop antioxidants and function better throughout their day.
No white chocolate
Many of us love it for its intense flavor and silky texture, but the reality is that white chocolate contains no cocoa and therefore none of its nutrients. It is made from cocoa butter, a form in which its vitamins and minerals are already completely reduced. It’s better to skip it.
Raisins
Raisins and dried fruits are your friends and your children's. They contain plenty of fiber and antioxidants, so even if you find them covered in chocolate, they will continue to work wonders for your health.
Small portions
It may sound obvious, but it is actually a great savings to buy packs of small versions of any candy. Additionally, children will feel satisfied with the treats but won't have massive amounts of cookies or chocolate to devour.
Candy or chocolate
Normally, solid candies have much less fat than chocolates or cakes, but they contain more sugar, so you need to watch the quantities. We recommend buying solid candy as it lasts longer, has less fat, and they can eat less.

Remember that this day is for having fun and letting loose a bit; also, children can absorb fats and sugars without any problem as long as they are active. The idea is not to let them consume a candy bomb or get used to eating harmful treats to avoid developing a habit.
