Basically, it is a chicken stuffed inside a duck, which is in turn stuffed inside a turkey (TURkey + DUCK + chicKEN). Each slice contains chicken, duck, and turkey with stuffing between each of the birds. A true holiday delight! According to experts, to make this complex and decadent dish correctly, a stuffing should separate the three meats. Preparing turducken will be easier by purchasing the deboned birds in advance. The bones will only get in the way when braiding and making the turkey stuffing. This dish takes about six hours to prepare, so be ready to spend the whole day in that kitchen. Turducken is often associated with the culture of outdoor home cooking and also with barbecues and seafood boils, although some people now serve it instead of the traditional roasted turkey as Thanksgiving dinner. As its popularity has spread from Louisiana to the rest of the Deep South and beyond, it is also possible to find it in some specialty stores in various cities, or even order it by mail. The popularity of turducken is mainly limited to certain parts of the United States and Canada. (Source: Wikipedia)   To learn the recipe for Turducken, you can click here.
