According to the General Council of Psychology in Spain, the advertising used during the Christmas season can be a triggering factor for stress; as a result of an unattainable image being conveyed. In Spain alone, this time of year generates a feeling of loneliness for 20% of the population, followed by Portugal (19%) and Italy (14%).
A British study conducted by Travelodge also reveals that 42% of women consider the Christmas season to be the most stressful time of year, which would mean one in five women. Due to factors such as.
1. Pressure. Exerted on preparations: gathering the family, preparing the food, getting each gift right, and being attentive to every detail.
2. Sleep disorders. It was found that during the Christmas season and up until New Year's Eve, people sleep on average 21 hours less, and only 45% of the population would manage to sleep at least 5 hours a day, mainly women.
3. Effort. This study also indicates that 85% of women think that the family does not value the work and effort that goes into each of the preparations.
The psychologists involved in the research recommend staying calm, getting enough sleep, and taking a nap if you go out at night. Remember that the best gift, not just this Christmas, is the health and love that you share. Take care and enjoy!
