Valentine's Day

What They Shouldn't Do on Valentine's Day

Men and women are very different. They are romantic, men… not so much! Here’s what they shouldn't do on Valentine's Day: Invite your girlfriend to watch Rocky IV on DVD. Tell your girl that you don't plan to have dinner out because you started a diet. Say: “I didn't know what to buy you because you already have everything.” Tell her that you won't buy her flowers because once when you brought her a bouquet she said, “What have you done to feel guilty?”. Tell her you didn't want to buy chocolates because… Who wants chocolates in this heat? And it's for her own good because, besides, they make you gain weight. Say you don't know what she wants to celebrate on Valentine's Day. Say that you don't believe in those disgusting imported dates that have nothing to do with being a true Mexican. Say that if her name were Valentina, it would be acceptable… There would still be something to celebrate… Ask her: “Is it Valentine's Day? Do you know anyone we should greet?”. Invite her to eat tacos or tortas from the street vendor near the office. Not cook her something even if it's simple but delicious. Calculate “she won't even remember what day it is today, better not to say anything.” Gift her a new vacuum cleaner. Serve her salad in the backyard… Or didn’t she want to eat outside? Comment: “I wish they would move it to February 29 so it could be celebrated once every 4 years!”.
