Being happy is a daily battle, a constant struggle between our expectations and our reality, and along the way, many obstacles hinder this constant search in which we live. Our friends from ActitudFem, share with us this list of 15 things you should give up to be happy.
To start the week, we want to share a reflection we found in The World Observer about the 15 things we need to give up, habits and customs that are hard to let go but necessary to find a fuller life.
Reflect on them and you will realize the great weight you will let go when you put them into practice:
1. Give up your need to always be right.
2. Give up your need to control everything.
3. Give up guilt, both your own and others'.
4. Give up speaking poorly of yourself and belittling yourself with your thoughts.
5. Give up thoughts that limit your abilities. Forget about “I can't.”
6. Give up complaints. Stop complaining about what is wrong and start solving it or letting it exist as it is.
7. Give up criticism. It is a luxury no one can afford.
8. Give up your need to impress others.
9. Give up your resistance to change. Change is a constant in life, accept it.
10. Give up labeling, using them weighs more on you than anyone else.
11. Give up your fears. Fear is an illusion created by your mind, you can control it.
12. Give up your excuses and rationalizations, they only drag you down and prevent you from moving forward.
13. Give up the past. It’s gone, it’s not coming back, learn from the good, let it go.
14. Give up your attachments. There is nothing you need more than yourself and surrounding yourself with people who want to be with you.
