The winter arrives and we can finally wear our coziest and warmest sweaters, enjoy seasonal dishes, and have dinners with friends and family (although this year they will probably be virtual). However, along with all these pros, this change of season brings a drier and colder environment, which causes our skin and hair to become dry.If you finally have a little free time but a limited budget, don't worry, because with this homemade hair mask, you will have enviable hair that is as hydrated as if it were summer.Homemade Jojoba and Coconut Mask for Dry HairJojoba oil is extracted from the fruit of a hardy and perennial plant that thrives in harsh and desert climates, and yet it also produces a nut with many healing properties. It is this nut from the jojoba plant that can be turned into oil.Jojoba oil is gentle enough to be used as a carrier oil to mix with other essential oils, but you can also use it on its own. Many people use jojoba oil as part of their skincare routine, as there is ample evidence supporting the use of pure jojoba oil as a remedy for acne, dry skin, and countless other skin conditions. To make this mask, you will only need 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and 1 teaspoon of jojoba oil. Simply mix the oils in a microwave-safe container, then heat for about 30 seconds, and it will be ready to apply.Massage the oil into the ends of your hair (as this is where hair is generally most damaged) and work your way up to the roots. You can apply the treatment to dry or damp hair, but you may achieve better results by doing it on damp hair after towel-drying.Put on a shower cap to cover your hair and let it sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the oils to work their magic. Then shampoo your hair, rinse out the oils, and condition as usual. You can use this homemade mask for dry hair 1 to 2 times a week.
