Rosemary is a very common and easily accessible herb that has thin, needle-like green leaves with a deep and penetrating scent. And although its use is more common in cooking, rosemary also has several uses and benefits for hair. This wonderful herb offers strong antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antiseptic effects. It is also effective against Candida albicans, a type of yeast that causes dandruff, making it a useful home remedy for treating dandruff, itching, and scalp irritation.Among the benefits of rosemary for hair, we can mention that it stimulates and improves circulation in the scalp –which promotes hair growth–, increases shine, relieves irritated or dry scalp, and gently cleanses hair.In fact, it is often used as an infusion to refresh hair within the curly method or after exercising, as it is an easy way to keep it clean and hydrated. To prepare rosemary infusion for hair, you only need to boil it, and if you wish, you can combine it with essential oils, such as argan or lavender oil.If you use fresh rosemary, you only need 2 tablespoons of leaves, and if you use dried leaves, then just 1 tablespoon. Boil 2 cups of water and add the rosemary leaves, let them steep for 15 to 30 minutes, and then strain the leaves. Your rosemary infusion is ready. You can transfer it to a spray bottle and keep it to spray on your hair whenever you want to refresh it, after exercising, for example, or use it as a rinse after washing it. Just apply directly to your roots and gently massage your scalp. You do not need to rinse it out afterward. This infusion can yield at least 2 to 4 applications, depending on the length of your hair, and you can store it in the refrigerator without any problem, and it will stay good for up to two weeks.
