In this hot season, ice cream is always tempting... and if you, like me, are one of those people who live more or less on a diet (with a healthy lifestyle, let's say), you are surely a fan of yogurt ice creams, which have the fewest calories.
The problem with these ice creams is that, although yogurt itself has many benefits for our bodies and has relatively few calories, the toppings offered in stores are not light at all... with a bad topping, we have already added back all the calories we had saved, and it would have been better to eat a whole cone of cookies n’ cream. 1. Almonds
This is not new to you; almonds are among the seeds that doctors most recommend to support diets. A tablespoon of almonds has fewer calories than any other seed. They also usually come without salt or artificial sweeteners and have good fats for our bodies. I recommend using 2 tablespoons of almonds for your ice cream.
2. Walnuts
If there are no almonds, you will surely find walnuts... just make sure they do not come with added salt or sugar and avoid caramel-coated walnuts.
3. Fruit
Whenever you can, accompany your ice cream with fresh fruit, do it. If you are looking to limit sugar, avoid mangoes, and if you want to consume potassium, try adding kiwi. If you find berries, include them in your cup.
4. Amaranth
Many yogurt ice cream places have amaranth among their toppings; if you find it, you can put a good tablespoon on top of the fruit. Amaranth is an important source of protein, minerals, and vitamins A, B, C, B1, B2, B3, as well as folic acid, calcium, phosphorus, iron, niacin, and lysine.
5. Chocolate
This is the least light of the light toppings, but if you add half a tablespoon of chocolate chips, you won’t ruin your diet. Chocolate, especially dark chocolate, reduces the stress hormone and sends a happiness signal to the brain. If you find dark chocolate, you can even add a full tablespoon to your cup.
