Today we give you some tips to learn how to do it the right way.
Knowing how to store vegetables is very important to preserve their best attributes: their flavor and nutritional value. To achieve this, two fundamental factors must be taken into account: hygiene and temperature.
In terms of hygiene, it is essential that the vegetables are well washed and disinfected before being drained and stored. If you do not like washing vegetables with bleach, you can instead use water and vinegar. Soak the vegetables in this liquid for 15 minutes and then rinse them.
Once rinsed, drain them on a dry, clean cloth, especially vegetables like lettuce and parsley, then place them in a clean bag in the refrigerator.
To better preserve the vegetables, do not place them on the shelves of the refrigerator, but in the drawers, as the lower compartments or drawers are designed for vegetables in all refrigerator models. Why is that? Because in that place the cold is softer and indirect, which allows for better preservation.
By following these tips, you will surely be able to keep your vegetables for a longer time without the risk of contamination.
