I have a husband who loves nature and dreamed of taking a camper trip with the family; honestly, every time he suggested it, I used to pray it wouldn't happen. But there are things you can't avoid; someday it was going to happen, and guess what, the first trip happened... and I asked for the second one, haha, who would have thought. But to this day, I still can't get over waking up next to a deer or exploring the woods with all my kids and suddenly, by chance, spotting a bear looking for food. One of the best experiences of my life.
The landscapes are amazing, and don't even get me started on the incredible rivers and waterfalls. You camp, fish, explore, and... you have a lot of fun!
That said, it's for relaxed parents who don't mind sleeping near insects and such.
There are hundreds of camper parking spots. It's like a new world you can't even imagine. I recommend doing this plan with 2 other families, with kids the same ages as yours, to form a good gang. And what I've enjoyed the most on these trips are the afternoons of barbecuing in the middle of nature by the river. Priceless!
Check out a route in Canada or Yosemite park. They are my favorites!
I recommend doing it with the company El Monte RV; it has worked out really well for me. You rent it online, you arrive as if you were renting a car, and there it’s key to buy the map of the parking spots along your route.
