Testing, testing: our favorites of April

By Staff - 2024-04-30T13:59:28Z
This April was the perfect opportunity to try new restaurants and cafes, as well as to visit classic places that never fail and even dare to use the air fryer for the first time. Explore our favorite products of the month! 1. The Garden of Anatolia This month we tried a bit of Turkish cuisine at The Garden of Anatolia, a restaurant with a lot of history. We started with a refreshing Turkish lemonade and then enjoyed the delicious rack of lamb. To wrap it up, you have to try the custard and don’t forget to accompany it with a Turkish coffee. Yamilette González, Chef Coordinator. 2. Ninja 4-in-1 Air Fryer  This air fryer is a super useful and easy-to-use kitchen tool. It helps me reduce my fat consumption, improve my diet, is easy to clean, and helps me cook delicious dishes in no time. Additionally, it has more options to expand my culinary experiments such as roasting, reheating, toasting, and dehydrating. It's definitely a must-have in appliances for independent millennials! Click here to buy.Adriana Sánchez, Editorial Coordinator. You can also read: Trying, trying: our favorites from March3. Kies Kies is a cookie shop located in Santa María la Ribera, just steps from the Moorish kiosk. It recently opened its doors to the public and is already a complete success, as the cookies sell out early. In addition to delighting us with their bunny cookies , chocolate chips, and red velvet, they also offer hot drinks. Another aspect to highlight about Kies is that the atmosphere is very relaxed and it's an aesthetic space, so it's sure to become the next hotspot in the neighborhood.  Recommended by Gretel Chávez, Editorial Coordinator. 4. Yoozoo Bubble Tea I have an addiction to bubble tea and I have set out to try as many as I can, so I have a very well-trained palate. That's why this month I recommend going to try the menu at Yoozoo, a cafe specialized in bubble tea or tapioca with tea that has a wide menu and each of its flavors will surprise you. Their menu is inspired by the bobas from South Korea, one of the Asian countries where this drink began to become famous. If it's your first time drinking this type of beverage, I definitely recommend the taro slush with crème brûlée, the cookies and cream smoothie, or the pistachio… this dessert will obsess you for life! If you’re looking for something fresher with a Mexican touch, give yourself the chance to try the mango frappe with chamoy and tapioca. Average price: $100 to $130 Mexican pesos.Location: Río Pánuco 32, Col. Renacimiento, Cuauhtémoc, 06500 Mexico City, CDMX  Tip: Their service is take-out only and on weekends there are many people wanting to try this wonder, so we recommend going during the week or very early. Recommended by Daniela Bosch, Editorial & Marketing Manager.  Read more: Trying, trying: our favorites from February5. Patisserie Dominique If you, like me, are a lover of breakfasts accompanied by delicious sweet bread, then write down the name Patisserie Dominique for your next visit.  This French bakery-restaurant is characterized by being located on one of the few streets away from the hustle and bustle of Roma Norte. Additionally, the terrace tables are shaded by the enormous trees that cover them, making the restaurant the ideal space for a quiet breakfast. My favorites are the eggs cocotte or the francheros (poached eggs over flour tortillas, refried beans, Gruyère cheese, goat cheese, house salsa, and pesto – kind of like ranchero eggs, but in French version). On weekends they have brunch and all the bread is a must-try, but among the unmissable are the almond croissant and the seasonal jams they offer as part of the brunch.  Where: C. de Chiapas 155A, Roma Nte., Cuauhtémoc, 06700 Mexico City, CDMX Recommended by Sasha Gamboa, Head of Editorial & Marketing. Now that you know the restaurants, cafes, drinks, and kitchen utensils that the kiwilimón team loved this month, don’t hesitate to try them and let us know if you liked them.
