One of the most popular rituals to welcome the New Year is to do a complete cleaning of the home to get rid of negative energy and attract positive energy. That’s why we bring you these simple tips to make your house super presentable.
1. Living and Dining Room
Vacuum carpets, sofas, and chair cushions; if you can put the latter in the washing machine, even better. Also, clean pictures, phones, TVs, or music players, and dust off any furniture you have in the living room.
Place fresh flowers in the middle of your dining table to add that special touch.
2. The Children’s Room
Teach your children to keep their spaces tidy, make their beds, and properly store their toys, even to give away or donate the ones they no longer use.
Recommended Tip: See how to remove stains from carpets and sofas.
3. Your Bedroom
Ask your partner to help you clean the dresser, mirrors, lamps, and organize the closet. There may be clothes that you can also donate.
4. Study Room
How many times have you accumulated towers of papers and documents that are no longer useful? It’s time to get rid of them and other things that clutter your desk.
Gather all the paper, newspapers, magazines, and old notebooks in a bag to take them to a recycling center.
Recommended Tip: Clean your lamps in minutes.
5. The Stove
Remove any removable parts such as grates and burners to eliminate grease buildup. Also, clean the top of the stove with a sponge or scrubber to remove accumulated grease.
6. The Refrigerator
Start by unplugging it and then take out the food. Use this opportunity to check if there are dishes that may no longer be good. Use a damp cloth to clean the dirt from the doors.
Recommended Tip: Tips to remove grease buildup.
7. The Microwave Oven
You can place a cup of water and heat it for a few minutes; this may loosen the grease or splattered liquids. Don’t forget to wash the turntable!
8. Organize Your Pantry
Remember to place the products you just bought at the back of your cabinets, so you consume the ones that have been stored longer first.
Also, clean the areas where you keep plates, glasses, pans, pots, etc. Dedicate a drawer with dividers for your utensils, such as spoons, forks, and knives.
Recommended Tip: Use lemon to clean the microwave.

9. The Bathroom
To scrub your walls, floors, tubs, toilets, and sinks, you can use the brushes sold in the supermarket in the dish scrubbers aisle, gloves, and brooms. If you have a door or screen in the shower, clean it with a damp cloth to avoid scratching. And for the curtain, run it through the washing machine.
Organize your medicine cabinet or shelf where you keep your soaps, creams, brushes, pastes, medicines, and other items.
10. Pipes
It’s common for hair and soap residue to get stuck in the shower pipes, and the same happens in the sink with grease and food scraps. To solve these problems, unless in extreme cases, you don’t need to call a plumber; do it yourself using products specifically made to unclog pipes, such as Mr. Muscle
Drano.
