How many times have you seen kitchen hacks online that are supposedly life-changing? There are hundreds of lists with tips and quirky advice promising to make your life in the kitchen easier, but the truth (sorry to say) is that some, rather than solving, seem to complicate things. Here are the hacks you should try to save time, money, and effort in the kitchen. Are you ready to give them a try? Separate the egg yolks from the whites using an empty plastic bottle. To make this arduous task easier, be sure to keep the eggs in the refrigerator. This way, the yolks will have a firmer consistency and won't break as easily. Place a wooden spoon over the pot you are boiling to prevent the water from overflowing. The material and temperature of the spoon cause the water to stay at a lower level, saving you from a big mess on the stove.   Spray measuring cups with cooking spray to prevent ingredients from sticking. This hack is particularly useful for baking recipes that include honey, syrup, peanut butter, etc. Besides keeping the exact measurements, this will help you avoid waste.     Use dental floss to cut food. This hack works for soft foods, but be careful, it doesn't work the same for everything. While dental floss allows you to make clean cuts in cheese, it's a terrible idea to use it on cakes, as it crumbles the edges and compresses the center.     Breathe into the bag of lettuce to keep it fresh. It turns out that the carbon dioxide released during exhalation keeps the leaves fresh. The next time you buy lettuce, store it in a bag, blow into it, seal it well, and put it in the refrigerator.
