Black Tea

Just like other types of teas or infusions, consuming black tea is recommended for people with diabetes, as it contains powerful chemical compounds, including theaflavins and tearubigins, which have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and also reduce blood sugar levels.

  • 6 cups water
  • 1/4 cups ginger, small piece, peeled, sliced
  • 1 sprig spearmint, only the leaves
  • 2 tablespoons monk fruit
  • 2 envelopes black tea

  • Boil water in a pot, once it has a small bubble, add ginger, mint, and monk fruit, and mix. Keep on low heat for 5 minutes.
  • Add the black tea bags and let it steep on very low heat for 2 more minutes, remove from heat and serve. You can accompany the diabetic-friendly tea with a piece of ginger and mint.
