Chai Latte

Chai latte is a drink originating from southern India, which is prepared with a delicious combination of spices like cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, clove, and black tea. This version is made with milk and a touch of Reddi Wip® whipped cream.

  • Reddi Wip® whipped cream
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom, powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons black pepper, powder
  • 1/4 teaspoons clove, powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons anise, powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon, powder
  • 4 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 sachets black tea
  • cinnamon powder, for decoration

  • Mix the cardamom, black pepper, clove, star anise, ginger, and powdered cinnamon in a bowl.
  • Heat the milk along with the spices you mixed and the brown sugar. Once hot, place the black tea bags, let it boil, remove and let it steep for 3 minutes. Strain with the help of a fine mesh strainer.
  • Lightly froth the milk using a French press. This is done by pouring the milk into the press, then placing the plunger with the lid and then vigorously moving the plunger up and down to create the froth. This happens because air gets in as it passes through the strainer attached to the plunger.
  • Serve the chai latte and finish with Reddi Wip® whipped cream, decorate with powdered cinnamon.
