Pineapple Coconut Matcha

You probably already know how to make a piña colada, that famous drink with incredible tropical flavors that fascinates us all. This cocktail was created in Puerto Rico in 1945, but there is also another version of the story that states that in the 19th century, a pirate invented the drink by mixing pineapple with coconut and rum.For the hot season, we decided to create a new version with an extra touch of flavor and added some McCormick® matcha to create a symphony of flavors. Are you craving it?The best part is that, besides being a green tea with a very refreshing taste, matcha tea is also rich in antioxidants, so don't hesitate to include it in your diet.

  • 3/4 cups coconut cream
  • 1 tablespoon McCormick® Matcha Tea
  • 1/2 cups pineapple juice
  • 2 ounces rum
  • 1 cup ice cubes

  • Add the coconut cream to a pot, heat over medium heat, add the McCormick® Matcha Tea, remove from heat, and let it steep for 5 minutes. Allow to cool.
  • Blend the infusion of McCormick® Matcha Tea with coconut, pineapple juice, rum, and ice.
  • Serve the piña colada with matcha tea in a tiki glass and decorate with pineapple.
