Crazy Cantaritos

To quench that thirst, we recommend this traditional fair drink; refreshing clay cantaritos rimmed with chili powder and salt, filled with grapefruit soda, pieces of pineapple, wedges of lime, crushed ice, with a fun kick of tequila, garnished with orange and lime. Cheers!

  • 2 limes, sliced, for rimming and for decoration
  • 2 oranges, sliced, for decoration
  • 1/4 cups chile powder
  • 1/4 cups salt
  • 1 cup ice cubes, crushed
  • 1/4 cups Tequila blanco
  • 2 tablespoons orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons grapefruit juice
  • 1/4 cups pineapple, cut into cubes
  • 1 lime, just a wedge
  • 1 grapefruit, just a wedge
  • 1 orange, just a wedge
  • 1/2 cups soda, grapefruit

  • Rub the rim of your cantarito with the lime slice.
  • Serve half salt and half chili piquín on a plate, place the rim of the cantarito in the plate to rim it half and half.
  • Fill your cantarito with crushed ice, add the white tequila, orange juice, grapefruit juice, pineapple cubes, lime wedges, grapefruit, and orange.
  • Fill with grapefruit soda.
  • Place the orange and lemon garnish in the glass for decoration, serve with a straw. Enjoy and share.
