Easy Chocolate Atole

The atole is one of those Mexican drinks that you can find everywhere, as it is perfect for pairing with tamales and sweet bread, as well as for breakfast or dinner.   • 1 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • water
  • 1/2 cups granulated piloncillo
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 6 cups milk
  • 2 Mexican chocolate
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • chocolate, for decoration
  • cinnamon stick, for decoration

  • In a bowl, mix the milk and cornstarch until well combined. Set aside.
  • Heat the water in a pot over medium heat. Add the piloncillo and the cinnamon stick, and once the piloncillo has dissolved, pour in the milk and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Add the table chocolate and mix to dissolve completely. Then, incorporate the evaporated milk and mix.
  • Once it comes to a boil, temper the chocolate with the milk and cornstarch, lower the heat, and cook for 10 minutes or until the atole thickens.
  • Serve the chocolate atole in a cup and decorate with chocolate and cinnamon.
