Easy Café de Olla

A typical Mexican coffee sweetened with piloncillo, this quick version will be your best ally at gatherings.

  • 8 cups water
  • 2/3 cups brown sugar
  • 1/2 piloncillos
  • 2 cubes cinnamon
  • 1 cup coffee , ground

  • Place in a pot the 8 cups of water with the sugar, piloncillo, and cinnamon until all the sugar is dissolved.
  • Add the coffee to the pot, cover, and boil for 5 minutes.
  • Serve in small jars, straining the coffee and removing the coffee beans and cinnamon.
  • Add a fresh cinnamon stick for decoration to each jar if desired.
