Fruit Punch for Posadas

The punch is full of flavor due to the variety of fruits, this is traditional for the posadas. It is a characteristic drink of the Christmas season that delights everyone with its rich taste.

  • 1/2 kilos guava, cut into quarters
  • 1/2 kilos apple, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 kilos tejocote, cut in half
  • 1 pineapple, peeled and cut into medium cubes 1 pineapple, peeled and cut into medium cubes
  • 1 kilo sugar cane, peeled and cut into 4
  • 1/4 kilos prunes
  • 100 grams hibiscus flower
  • 100 grams tamarind pods, peeled
  • 1 stick cinnamon 1 stick cinnamon
  • 5 oranges, leaves
  • 1 sprig lemon tea
  •   water water
  • raw sugar

  • Boil enough water with cinnamon, hibiscus, lemon tea, tamarind, and orange leaves for 5 to 10 minutes, once this time has passed, remove the remnants of these ingredients if desired.
  • Add the fruit, starting with the sugar cane and the apple, wait 5 minutes and then add the tejocote, pineapple, and prunes, wait 5 minutes and add the guava.
  • Add sugar to taste and let everything come to a final boil, remove from heat.
  • Serve hot.
