  • 3 guavas, large
  • 1 sheath tamarind pods
  • 1/2 cups piloncillo
  • 1 clove
  • 1 star anise pod
  • 1 1/2 liters water

  • Wash the guavas and tamarind.
  • Wash the piloncillo with water to remove impurities.
  • Place the water in a pot over the heat and add all the ingredients.
  • When it starts to boil, let it cook on low heat for 15 minutes, then turn off and let the infusion rest for 5 more minutes covered.
  • Strain and serve hot.
