Moka Chai Atole

A delicious little atole to enjoy before bed, made with chocolate, coffee, and cinnamon. It is very simple to prepare and has an unmatched flavor, making it very relaxing and leaving you with a feeling of well-being.

  • 1 envelope cornstarch, chocolate flavor
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 liter cow's milk
  • 1 glass water

  • Bring the milk to a boil with the cinnamon stick; if you are using powdered cinnamon, don't add it yet, just let the milk boil.
  • Meanwhile, dissolve the packet of cornstarch in a glass of room temperature or cold water; if you prefer, it can be in a glass of cold milk.
  • The milk will boil in about 10 minutes; as soon as it starts to heat up, add the glass of water or milk with the atole already dissolved. Let it simmer on low heat for 3 minutes, then add the chocolate, coffee, and powdered cinnamon. Let it boil a little longer without letting the milk foam up too much, then turn off the heat, stirring constantly.
