Tamarind Water

On hot days, there is nothing as refreshing as tamarind water. It is so easy to make that you will never buy any concentrate again.

  • 15 tamarind pods, dry
  • 5 cups water
  • 1/4 cups sugar
  • ice cubes, to taste
  • chile powder, to taste

  • Peel the tamarinds and remove the seeds.
  • Heat the water, once it reaches a boil, add the tamarinds and turn off the heat. Remove the seeds from the tamarinds.
  • Add sugar.
  • Place the water in the blender and blend.
  • Strain the mixture through a sieve.
  • Add ice and serve.
