Cream Punch

Cream Punch is a typical Venezuelan drink during the Christmas season that is prepared artisanally. This creamy sweet concoction is made with eggs, condensed milk, whole milk, and of course contains alcohol.

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 397 grams condensed milk
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoons lime zest, or a conchita
  • 1/2 cups rum, Venezuelan
  • nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence

  • In a pot, heat the milk over low heat.
  • Beat the egg yolks. Add the yolks to the milk, the lemon zest. Then a teaspoon of vanilla and nutmeg to taste. Keep stirring with a wooden spoon, and it should always be kept at low temperature to avoid coagulating the yolks.
  • Wait for it to rest for a while and for the liquid temperature to drop a bit, at which point it should be somewhat thick.
  • Add the condensed milk, the rum, and mix well. If you feel it has lumps, you can use a blender.
  • Taste and check that it has the desired liquor flavor; if not, add more alcohol as needed.
